A special moment on the shores of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda. Watching in awe from a small motorboat, as a white Cattle Egret (bird) takes off in full-flight after resting on the tusk of an African Elephant.
Look carefully and you will see the Egret in it’s final moments of take off - one leg starting to tuck into its body, as the other stretches out from the elephants tusk to give it a leaping start. I love especially the contrast of the colors in two parts of the scene - the dark leafy greens next to the elephant as it wades in the waters, and the Egret flying against a dark, thick wooden brush to bring out the clarity and texture of its wings.
There are countless examples in nature of beautiful co-existence - different species in symbiotic balance in their shared domains. And it begs the question - what made us, as humans, veer so far off course, and how can we observe and reflect on the scenes that we see play out in the wild, to bring a little more balance to our own lives?

Getting a frame is recommended. A general rule of thumb for mat frames (white border) is to ‘size up’ a few inches from the print dimensions. E.g.:
